Terrazzo Floors

Terrazzo is a composite material which consists of marble, quartz, granite, glass or other suitable chips, together with a binder that is cementitious, chemical or a combination of both. Terrazzo is cured, ground and polished to a smooth surface or otherwise finished to produce a uniformly textured surface.

The maintenance of a terrazzo floor requires professional technicians and special procedures. Floors may become discoloured or have a damaged surface because of dirt tracked into the floor or a build-up of coatings or cleaning chemicals.

Our Soft Services division carries out several types of terrazzo floor restoration including:

  • Preventative and routine maintenance, including regular cleaning and sealing of floors.

  • Repairing damage to the surface caused by a build-up of cleaning chemicals or dirt.

  • Regrinding terrazzo floors if damage is so severe that normal stripping and cleaning cannot restore the surface.

  • Repairing minor chips and cracks.
